Discover the uniqueness of Kerkyra the ‘Archontissa’ of the Ionian Sea.
Situated in the northwest of Greece, Corfu has a rich and fascinating history. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and feels like an outdoor museum. Striking monuments, unique museums and cultural centers make Corfu one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan of Greek islands. On the other hand, Corfu boasts an incredible natural heritage consisting of lagoons, rivers, mountains, forests, a huge network of footpaths, dense vegetation supporting a biodiversity with hundreds of bird, wildflower and animal species unique to Corfu. World class beaches with crystal clear waters are just a stone throw away, while nightlife and a famous cuisine fascinate the unsuspecting visitor. The old and the new, the natural and the cultural co-exist in blended harmony and beauty.
This easily accessible seaside resort is situated 20 km south of Corfu town, just before Messonghi river estuary. On the main road, in nearby Moraitika village one can find all necessary amenities and services such as bars, cafes, restaurants as well as super markets, pharmacies and a range of local products and tourist shops. Just up the hill, there is the old village of Moraitika, a picturesque settlement with panoramic views, traditional tavernas and the local church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The village’s sandy beach boasts crystal clear waters and is appropriate for families and people with restricted movement since the waters are shallow and warm. You can also find a variety of fish restaurants and cafes along the beach front.
